Job Requirements:

* Open availability to work all scheduled shifts including afternoon shifts, night shifts, weekends and holidays
* Flexible schedule
* Valid Ontario Security License is a must
* Standard First Aid/CPR and AED training
* Your own reliable transportation as public transportation is not always available at all required sites
* 1 year experience is an asset but not required

Georgian Bay Hotel is hiring now for Night Shift Security. Hotel is located in the Collingwood area. This is an overnight shift from 9:00pm-7:00am, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Following are the job descriptions:

Position Summary: The Night Shift Security is responsible for general security and rounds of the hotel. The Night Shift Security role’s primary responsibility is to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all guests and hotel employees, including but not limited to de-escalation when required and ensuring GBH’s “Quiet Time” beginning at 11PM is adhered to. It is also within the Night Shift Security’s role to act as a support to the Front Desk Team/ Night Auditor with all aspects of guest relations. The Night Shift Security role is also responsible for assisting with small maintenance and repairs in guest suites as needed but restricted to small repairs that do not disturb the hotel guest or cause undo disturbance within the hotel. GBH’s Night Shift Security represents GBH in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.

Duties and Responsibilities 1. Handle guest requests and make room runs

2. Support Front Desk Team/ Night Auditor in handling any guest complaints

3. Monitor the movements of guests & visitors through the common areas of the property

4. Ensure all doors that can be secured are properly secured

5. Sweep outside areas for hazards and ensure that all outsides units are properly secured

6. Ensure that all office suites are properly secured

7. Turn off all lighting that is not required during the Night Shift

8. Ensure that all meeting rooms are properly secured and tidy

9. Assist Maintenance and Housekeeping with general duties (as directed by supervisor)

10. Maintain a clear and safe passage for all guests in all entryways (Snow removal, salting, garbage removal)

11. Ensure that all Housekeeping and Maintenance supply areas are properly secured

12. Monitor attic Temperature and Server room AC to maintain the proper environment in each

13. Ensure a monthly safety check of the Fire Extinguisher is being completed and documented

14. Monitor security sensitive areas to ensure a safe environment (Vending areas, Gym, Clubhouse, Spa, Restaurant)

15. Sweep hotel on a regular and continuous schedule (hourly) to ensure a safe and peaceful environment

16. Provide entry for independent contractors when necessary (Cleaner, tradespeople, deliveries)

17. General customer service duties

18. Assist guests with any minor maintenance issues (Only when these repairs do not disturb other guests)

19. Assist Front Desk Team/ Night Auditor in customer service requirements for guests (Room or property issues)

20. Provide assistance with function set-ups when required
