JOB SUMMARY:
Mobile Security Division is required to travel in a company vehicle to all parts of the GTA and represent Peregrine Protection in dealing with a wide range of issues.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is integral to the functioning of Peregrine Protection outside of normal business hours as it ensures that Field Operations and Business Continuity are maintained at all times.
· MLEO services
· Fleet management and keeping maintenance up to date
· Master key inventory and tracking
· Setting up new mobile accounts, consulting on mobile account applications, and liaising with mobile customers
· Manage personnel including: interviews, onboarding, ongoing training, and performance reviews
· Manage site and mobile equipment, making deliveries to guards as needed
· Attending sites and performing inspections
· Ensuring and implementing staff compliance with company policies/procedures
· Completing investigations during alarm responses
· Performing opening and closing duties of premises
· Performing regular foot and vehicle patrols
· Documenting any incidents or unusual behaviour
· Assist in any ad-hoc coverage

· Ability to make quick decisions in emergency situations with minimal supervision
· Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage assigned tasks.
· Flexibility to work rotating shifts
· Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain records
· Computer literate with familiarity in Microsoft Office and Mobile Security Applications
· Ability to carry out written and verbal instructions

Position Title: Security Guard
Department: Security Services
Reporting to: Shift Security Supervisors
Type of Employment/Hours of Work: Part-time - Up to thirty-five to forty hours per week (hours may vary based on need). Must be available to work day shifts (0730 HRS1930 HRS) and / or evening / night shifts (1930 HRS-0730 HRS)
Rate of Pay: $18-$20 per hour
Major Duties:
● Provide exceptional customer service and sustain effective relationships with clients and patrons of the Harbourfront Centre.
● Conduct proactive patrols to ensure safety and address policy breaches and escalate any concerns to the Security Supervisor.
● Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
● Access control and CCTV monitoring for the entire facility.
● De-escalate crisis situations, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including Police, Fire and Paramedic resources.
● Investigates all disturbances on the property including - but not limited to - trespass, theft, fire/ intruder alarms, missing persons, and determines the necessary response.
● Write clear and detailed reports including incident, emergency, liability, and day-to day reports
● Exercise crowd control and evict trespassers.
● Provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s).
● Utilize two-way radios and computer applications to communicate site activities.
● Handle Lost & Found items and inquires.
● Answer inquiries from the public politely and professionally.
● Completes their personal employee memo book, recording incidents and security activities while on shift. As directed, maintains log of security activities for insurance / legal purposes when required.
● Employs use of force techniques and strategies in accordance with training and company policy as required during shift.
● Performs other administrative and building support duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
● Remain calm and effectively perform in emergency situations.
● Able to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
● Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and customer service focused.
● Able to handle confidential information with a high amount of discretion.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible environment while maintaining the utmost professionalism.
● Able to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
● Moderate physical activity, standing and walking for long periods of time including in outdoor weather conditions.
● Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Arrest Procedures.
● Proficient in English (verbal and written) communication skills, Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
● Familiarity with the Occupation Health & Safety Act is considered an asset.
Prerequisites:
● Prior experience in a Security Guard capacity.
● Ontario driver’s license with clean abstract.
● Valid emergency and/ or standard first aid/CPR certification.
● Valid certification of provincial standards for Use of Force (in handcuff and baton) desired.
● Strong report writing skills.
● Operational knowledge and working understanding of alarm receivers and servers preferred.
Working Conditions:
● May contain some hazardous and potentially dangerous situations related to securing Harbourfront Centre.
● Job involves working outside in varying weather conditions and some working in isolated areas.
● Job involves working in full uniform including but not limited to winter jacket, uniform shirt, pants, polishable black boots.
● Job involves working a variety of shifts, must be available to work evenings, nights, weekends, dayshifts, and statutory holidays.

Working with the Director of Security and Safety, participate in all security and safety practices within the hotel in order to maximize the Colleague, Guest and Owner satisfaction.
Provide technical expertise in areas of hotel security and safety.
Assist with the implementation of Security, Fire, Life and Safety practices. This includes disaster planning and Occupational Health and Safety.
Conduct regular patrols during shifts covering the hotel space.
Prepare reports at the end of each shift including log book entries, general occurrence, fire alarm and medical reports.
Respond to complaints from guests and patrons when called upon and conducts necessary investigations.
Ensure compliance to all provincial and federal legislation, hotel policies, standards and core practices, diligently assist with inventory controls and safety programs.
Adhere to Emergency Response procedures, including a fire prevention program to established legal requirements.
Perform special investigations as required.
Assume responsibilities for the role of Assistant to the Chief Fire, Life and Safety during emergencies.
Maintain a close working relationship with all departments in the hotel.
Maintain on-going communications with the Toronto Police Department, RCMP VIP Section, OPP and any other security agencies and assists with special security arrangements for VIP visits when requested.

Must be in possession of valid Canadian work permit to be eligible to be considered
Must be in possession of the Ontario Security License.
